Easter is coming up and is usually the time of year where we all let our healthy weight loss diets slip ever so slightly and indulge in a chocolate treat.
If you already undergoing a medical weight loss programme with a healthy diet and weight loss exercise regime with The Slimming Clinic or are simply being mindful of your calorie consumption, you might be worried about feeling left out at Easter time, especially if you can’t enjoy chocolate eggs on your weight loss diet.
Luckily, our super sleuth Easter bunnies at The Slimming Clinic have done some research to discover the healthy and low sugar Easter eggs, and the not-so-healthy, currently on the market.
Whilst there is nothing wrong with an occasional treat, it’s good to know exactly what you are eating – especially when on a weight loss diet! One of our top weight loss tips at The Slimming Clinic this Easter is to enjoy everything in moderation and control your portion sizes.

What Is the Most Healthy Easter Treat?
While these may not necessarily be big Easter eggs, these chocolate treats are still popular (and quite addictive) at this time of the year. But, which one should you go for if you are on a weight loss diet?
Mini Eggs
These little bite-sized crunchy, sugar coated eggs are popular amongst the kids and in the office!
Easy to share and bound to please a crowd, these little eggs may seem harmless but are 490 calories per 100g bag, with 67g of sugar.
So, while these are a great occasional treat, make sure you only indulge in a few of these to avoid piling on the pounds during your weight loss programme.
Crème Eggs
1 of these eggs contains 177 calories and 26g worth of sugar! While one doesn’t seem to be too bad, two or three can easily add up and cause a hindrance on your journey to your Summer body!
Malteaster Bunnies
In one of these seemingly harmless chocolate bunnies, there are 157 calories and 14g of sugar!
As we all know, Malteasers chocolate can be very moreish, so eating one of these can lead to many more. Be mindful of how much you’re eating whilst on a weight loss program, as the calories do add up. Sometimes, resisting treats can be the hardest part of a weight loss journey.
