How do I book a remote appointment?
It couldn’t be simpler!

Either click the Book an Appointment button on this page or call our lovely Call Centre team who will get you booked in for our next available remote telephone appointment with a Doctor.

What happens in my remote appointment?
Once you’ve booked your appointment, the doctor will call you at your appointment time.

At your routine appointment, the doctor will talk to you about how you are getting on, ensure the medication is still working and answer any questions you may have.

In order to safely prescribe and dispatch your treatments, the doctor will require your weight, and in some instances, blood pressure reading to ensure you are still on the right weight loss medication.
If this is the case, we will send you a blood pressure monitor to keep, so you can take you reading and email it to us so the doctor can review and then, if possible, prescribe and send your treatments to you.

We kindly request that you have these two pieces of information ready and available for your remote appointment with the Doctor, as we are unable to write your prescription or dispatch your treatments without them.

They will offer their usual support and discuss any issues you are facing and give you advice and tips to see you through until your next appointment.

How do I get my medication?
How do I get my medication?

Once you have spoken with the doctor through your remote consultation, and where applicable, they will write a prescription for your medication.
Once your prescription is approved, it will be sent to our distribution centre who will dispatch your medication to you via courier, to have it delivered safely and securely to your door.
We do ask that you have it dispatched to an address that you will be at, and can sign for, as it must be signed for by the person it is prescribed to.
Please allow up to 7 days for delivery of medication after your appointment. If you have not received your treatments after 7 days, please email us at info@theslimmingclinic.com.
We do offer a Prime Delivery Service for those wishing to receive their medication sooner and get priority when it comes to booking in appointments.

I’m on a weight loss programme with you, will my medication automatically be sent to me?
Unfortunately, not.

You will need to call and speak to a doctor to get your next prescription ordered.

Please be mindful that medication can take up to 7 days after your appointment to arrive, so please book your appointment well in advance of your medication running out, to minimise disruption to your weight loss programme.

Can my appointment be with the doctor I saw in clinic?
You may be able to speak to the doctor you met with when we operated from our clinics, however, it may be another doctor that calls you.
We aim to fit you in for a remote appointment as soon as possible in our diary, so you are more than likely to speak to a doctor who is new to you.
We can assure you that all The Slimming Clinic doctors are friendly, knowledgeable and professional and will treat you with the best care and highest standards on your weight loss journey with us.
I am a new patient and need to see someone before I can join a programme, how can I do this?

How much is delivery?
At present, delivery is £8.25 per delivery.
However, we also offer a Prime Delivery Service that offers the following for just £50 for 6 months:

  • Free delivery of all treatments for six months via our secure, trustworthy courier
  • Six months of express delivery – within 48 hours after your appointment
  • Jump the waiting queue and get priority on booking your appointments

I find it hard to understand the doctor remotely as I speak another language.
We have introduced Language Line to the business in order to help those for who English is not their first language.
As a medical service that provides prescription medication to our patients, it is very important that you fully and completely understand what medication we are providing you, how to take it and its potential side effects, should you choose to take it.
The interpretation service we use is through a company called Language Line. You can find out more about them here: https://www.languageline.com/uk
When you have booked your appointment, at the time of your appointment, you will be called by a translator from Language Line, who will connect you with the doctor for your appointment.
It is very important that you understand everything the doctor is telling you, so if anything is unclear, please ask the interpreter to explain for you.
You will be allocated a slightly longer appointment length to ensure you have sufficient time to speak with the doctor and interpreter.
Can I join even if you have never had a clinic in my area?
Yes! The beauty of our services now being remote mean that you can join us from anywhere in the country, even if you don’t live near a previous clinic location.
We will be releasing more details of how you can join us if you’re a new patient, or you’ve not been to us in a little while, so you can safely be assessed to join the weight loss programme of your choice.
