Some people have heaps of self-motivation to go to the gym regularly and work out on their own. Others enjoy being taught exercises whilst being in a social environment. Fitness classes are a fun way of exercising and actually reserving your space at the class acts as an incentive to get up and go! Different classes help you achieve different things. Here are some of the classes to attend to target the key areas of exercise:

WEIGHT LOSS = BODY PUMP

Body Pump is a cardio strength class that uses barbells to perform resistance exercises and workouts. These classes usually last around 45-60 minutes and are completed to upbeat, lively music. Body Pump classes are fun yet rigorous- the workouts raise the heart rate, use every area of your body and cause serious calorie burn.

TONE UP = LEGS, BUMS AND TUMS

LBT classes are hard work but the results are visible very quickly. The exercises at LBT are usually performed in sets and have a ranging level of difficulty. Expect squats, lunges, crunches and back raises at this class and soon you will see a very firm bum and tum in your mirror!

RELAXATION = PILATES

A great exercise class for your body that differs from the fast-beat, heart racing classes. Pilates is a mat based class that concentrates on core muscle stability. It aims to condition the entire body and focuses on spinal and pelvic alignment, beneficial for your posture. The combination of stretches and breathing exercises can tone legs and arms, as well as allowing oxygen to flow to your muscles.

CARDIO = SPINNING

A spinning class employs a stationary bike that has a variety of tension levels. If you opt in for regular spinning workouts, you will build increased cardio endurance, which is excellent if you find yourself running out of breath easily. Exercising through spinning has a low impact on your knees and joints which is contrary to other aerobic or running exercises. Spinning bikes also track your progress which is a great form of motivation and goal accomplishment.
