A day at the races is enjoyable for all the family (and provides us with a great excuse to wear a fabulous hat!) but can be tricky when you’re trying to stay healthy. Although there is an option to eat in über fancy restaurants, for you race goers on a tighter budget, a picnic is just the thing. This is why, at The Slimming Clinic, we have composed a list of amazingly tasty but low calorie picnic perfect dishes and drinks that would be ideal for a summers day at the races…

Eating at the Races…

Drinking at the Races…

  1. If you feel like getting a little boozy this race day, opt for a glass of bubbles guilt-free, as a flute of champagne has fewer calories than a glass of wine at 84 calories!
  2. It can also make a huge difference by simply switching your drinks’ mixer. Choose a diet mixer or soda water so that you can enjoy your day without having to worry.
  3. Make sure to drink a non-alcoholic drink between each alcoholic one, as it will keep your body hydrated and healthy and will help to reduce the risk of a hangover the next day.
