Weight loss tablets at The Slimming Clinic
We are best known for our medical weight loss programmes, although we do offer non-medical options as well. The weight loss medication will either be a tablet or injection. If your weight loss treatment is a tablet, it will either be Xenical or CAAS.
These can be prescribed by our experienced GMC-registered doctors and medical practitioners based on your medical requirements to ensure they are safe for you to use as part of your weight loss programme.
Xenical weight loss pills work by preventing the absorption of at least 30% of fat within the body, and reducing the number of calories you consume with each meal – helping you to stick to your calorie deficit and lose weight effectively.
Phentermine and Diethylpropion appetite suppressants work similarly, stimulating neurons to release neurotransmitters that suppress hunger signals and appetite. And these weight loss tablets are, by far, our most popular.
How Do Weight Loss Tablets Work?
We offer two types of weight loss tablet medication
Phentermine and Diethylpropion
This tablet medication is centrally-acting. This means the pills alter the release of chemical messengers within the hypothalamus, which is the appetite control centre of the brain. This causes appetite suppression and reduces huger perception, giving you more control over your hunger and cravings. Additionally some patients experience an energy boost making it easier to increase your movement. Both weight loss pill comes in a range of strengths. Your Doctor will advise the correct dose so you get the best weight loss results
Orlistat
This type of tablet medication promotes weight loss by decreasing the amount of dietary fat absorbed in your intestines. Lipase is an enzyme found in the digestive tract. It’s role is to help break down dietary fat into smaller parts, so it can be used or stored for energy. Orlistat blocks the work of lipase. When you take the drug with a meal, about 25% of the fat you eat isn’t broken down. A typical dose is 3 tablets a day. These should be taken ahead of any meal that contains fatty foods.
Weight loss tablet medication can be an effective tool for weight loss for those who are struggling to lose weight through diet and exercise alone. In addition to the medication, our Doctors will give advice on diet, movement and mindset.
