Our super slimmer of the month for April is Nina Trapp. With the help of The Slimming Clinic, Nina was able to lose 5.5 stone and is one yummy mummy!
Nina used to be a boredom eater and weighed her heaviest at 17.2 stone after the birth of her daughter. With the increase of photos being taken and a recent proposal, she had decided enough was enough and made the decision to lose weight and slim down.
After trying so many diets, meal replacement shakes and herbal alternatives and having the weight creep back on after stopping these programmes, she decided to research into joining The Slimming Clinic after a friend had told her about it. Upon discovering that her dad was familiar with the weight loss programme, Nina decided to take the plunge, go to the free consultation and start on the weight loss medication. Combining the slimming medication with a healthy diet and exercise, Nina’s weight loss journey began to reveal a happier, healthier and slimmer Nina.
“I have not felt restricted to certain foods or even food in general! It’s as if the medication has taught me to eat at the right times and not all day!”
Upon hitting her target weight, Nina now loves buying new and different clothes which she hadn’t had worn before the weight loss. Being able to tell when she is full and feeling like she can say no to those tempting foods is one of the biggest things that has changed in her life and she now spends her time going on walks, going to the gym and spending more quality time with her family. Unlike the other diets she had tried, the The Slimming Clinic weight loss programme had changed her relationship with food and influenced a permanent lifestyle change.
“The slimming medication has changed my way of thinking, which, I know now, is what needed to change. The change in my lifestyle is completely opposite to how it was before and the change physically is almost frustrating – why didn’t I do this sooner? My confidence and self esteem has sky rocketed and I just feel so incredibly happy.”
What are your three best dieting tips you’d like to share?
1. Set yourself little goals – i.e. Buy a dress in a smaller size, arrange a night out in the future and get yourself down to that dress size!
2. Do it with a friend – a little healthy competition doesn’t hurt anyone!
3. Take progress photos – a close friend encouraged me to do this and I was so against it but when I could see the results in front of me, it was a huge encouragement to continue what I was doing and work harder!
What would you say to someone who wanted to lose a large amount of weight?
I would recommend the slimming programme with The Slimming Clinic. The support and advice you receive during the programme is so helpful and you can see where you need to make the changes in your current diet and routine.
Is there anyone you’ve looked up to during your weight loss journey?
When I was losing weight, I followed other people losing weight on Instagram and Twitter and found that seeing their progress photos was really motivating.
