Of course, changing your life doesn’t have to start on January 1st, but it is a wonderful opportunity to make the most of the coming year, and see what you can achieve before December 31st.

Health Not Habits

In 2022, The Slimming Clinic are pledging to invest in our health and not our bad habits.

That means, taking a look at the parts of your life that are not good for your health or weight loss diet, and seeing how we can make manageable, small adjustments in order to improve our weight loss, health or well-being.

Are there areas of your life, or bad habits, you could adjust that you KNOW would make a massive difference to your well-being and weight loss?

Task:

Think about the bad habits that you currently have. It could be too many take-aways, it could be unnecessary snacking, it could be smoking, it could be drinking too much alcohol.

Now write down next to them, some achievable goals you could set, to try and reverse these poor habits.

Save Money, Save Your Health

As we know, bad habits often cost a lot of money too.

If you smoke, have takeaways fairly regularly, drink a couple of bottles of wine a week, or even buy your lunch or a coffee every day, this all adds up in cost and we know, these habits are not good for our health.

Task:

Go back to your list of bad habits and write down a rough estimate of the costs involved in your habits for a week.

Now times that number by 52 and you will have the cost of your bad habits over a year.

So, if you order takeaway once a month, and it costs you £35, over a year that is a whopping £1820 in takeaway food!

Nearly £2000 on something that isn’t helping your health and, in fact, is probably making your health worse, adding thousands of calories to your daily total.

 How Can You Change Your Habits In 2022?

It is simple to change your habits in 2022.

We are not asking you to change everything all at once.

If you have a number of bad health habits, we know that making too many changes to your diet and lifestyle often results in relapsing and bingeing on what you have given up.

But by looking at how you can change one bad habit at time, over the course of the next 12 months, you could be looking at amazing weight loss results, improved overall health and improved mental health too.

Task:

Go back to your list and make a plan. Look at your bad habits and take one at a time that you can change to something healthier to benefit your life and health.

It could be something as simple as NOT having a takeaway every week.

Or reducing the amount or stopping drinking alcohol completely.

Maybe you’ll add some activity to the days where you are particularly inactive.

Take time adjusting to your new, better habits and then, when you feel comfortable that you’ve adjusted your bad habit, move on to the next bad habit on your list.

Remember: It takes up to 12 weeks for a new, good habit to form, so don’t expect miracles and for your bad habit to disappear overnight.

However, if you really keep your willpower focused, you can break bad habits!
