Ami Fawcett's story
Weight Lost: 4 Stone*
I went back a week after and I had lost 9 pounds in a week, I was shocked! Weeks turned into months and I became more confident and determined to keep going – I didn’t want to let myself down. Before I knew it, in the last 5 months, I had lost 4 stone! It was really easy – the support from the staff helped me get motivated.*
Before I started my journey with The Slimming Clinic I got to the point where I was just piling on the pounds, I had tried all diets but seemed to be getting nowhere. I have always exercised and gone to the gym but my eating habits were getting the best of me, picking at my children’s dinners, eating chocolate through the day to keep energy high and eating the wrong choices of food. My dinner portions were really big too. The biggest thing for me was going shopping and nothing would fit me and I was getting really unhappy with the way I looked and felt. I decided to give The Slimming Clinic a call to see if they could help me, the staff were amazing and didn’t judge me. After my consultation I went and really concentrated on my diet and still continued with my exercise but worked harder at it. I went back a week after and I had lost 9 pounds in a week, I was shocked! Weeks turned into months and I became more confident and determined to keep going – I didn’t want to let myself down. Before I knew it, in the last 5 months, I had lost 4 stone! It was really easy – the support from the staff helped me get motivated.
There’s nothing I would deny myself, I still have nights out with my friends for dinner and a few glasses of wine but I don’t go overboard. If I feel like a piece of chocolate then I do, without eating the whole bar. I couldn’t have done it without the support of The Slimming Clinic and my family and friends. I’m a happier person and feel amazing on the inside and out.
What was your starting weight and what are you now?
My starting weight was 15 stone 1, and I am currently 11 stone.
How do you deal with boredom in your dieting program?
I like to try different foods so it doesn’t become boring; my children eat the same foods as me so I don’t need to do different meals. I make lots of home made soup in an evening, so at lunch time I can just heat it up, I also have a slow cooker for casseroles, stews, so when dinner time comes it’s all ready.
What are your three best dieting tips you’d like to share?
The best tips I can give anyone is to:
1. Do some walking, maybe instead of taking the car on school runs walk down, or have a walk around to the shop, that makes a massive difference.
2. Change your dinners – don’t stick to the same things.
3. Drink lots of water – it’s good for your skin, hair and flushes out the bad toxins.
Are there any foods that you completely avoid and never eat?
I try and stay away from bread but there are some great substitutes like crisp bread which is lovely with boiled eggs for breakfast.
What would you say to someone who wanted to lose a large amount of weight?
I would say to anyone who wanted to loose weight is never give up. As soon as you loose those first few pounds, it really keeps you motivated and The Slimming Clinic will give you helpful tips to encourage you through your programme.
