Paris's story
Weight Lost: 5 stone 3 pounds
I have managed to do a few 5km walks, this year, for Kidney Research UK in honor of my late Dad, something I would not have been able to do without my weight loss, with the help of The Slimming Clinic. I am always being complimented on how far I've come with my weight loss and how well I look having lost weight.
From being a teenager I had always been on the larger side, battling with my weight over the years. I slimmed down at 18, and stayed this way until I became pregnant in 2011. With pregnancy came the weight, gaining 4 stone throughout my pregnancy. After having my daughter my focus was on nursing her and being the best mother I could be for her. As she became more active, I realised I wasn't able to keep up with her as much as I had thought or had hoped, so in January 2014 I decided I needed to slim down in order to keep up with my very active 2 year old. After a year of slimming down with Slimming world and exercise, I had plateaued at 12 stone and was extremely happy with this, so I just carried on eating well, but not focusing on losing weight. I led a very active life in 2015, so felt no real need to focus so much on my weight as I had before.
Unfortunately at the beginning of 2016, my beloved Dad suddenly passed away, this is when my life went down hill and my weight increased and my clothes sizes went up too. After Dad passed I turned to food and wine to mask my pain and grief of losing my Dad, every meal was junk food and a bottle of wine on a nightly basis began to take its toll on my weight. I didn't care how much I weighed or how big I looked - depression and grief had struck and I needed to numb the feelings of pain and loss, the only way I knew how via eating and drinking. It wasn't until after the anniversary of my Dad's death when it finally hit me that enough was enough, food and wine were not going to help me fight the depression or bring my dad back to us. In one year I had put on 4.5 stone I looked and felt disgusting, and I knew my Dad would be so disappointed in what I was doing to myself. February 2017 I decided to re-join the The Slimming Clinic in Hounslow and haven't looked back ever since- in my first week I lost 7lbs! Every week since starting with The Slimming Clinic I have had a weight loss. I look forward to weigh in every week, the staff at the clinic especially Zara (the receptionist) are so warm, welcoming and make my weight loss journey motivating with their positivity and encouragement.

I have managed to do a few 5km walks, this year, for Kidney Research UK in honour of my late Dad, something I would not have been able to do without my weight loss, with the help of The Slimming Clinic. I have been waiting to see when I would be able to run/power-walk (in intervals), and this weekend (August 2017) I thought "Its time, I think I can do it but I don't know until I try"... So I tried and I ran/ power-walked 10km for the first time ever, and it felt amazing. When I finished I was amazed and so proud of myself. I have not yet completed my weight loss journey, but as my target is on the horizon I feel happy that I chose to lose weight with The Slimming Clinic and I am very motivated by how far I have come having done so. I am always being complimented on how far I've come with my weight loss and how well I look having lost weight, and I wouldn't be who or where I am today without my focus, determination and the The Slimming Clinic team at the Hounslow clinic.
How much did you weigh at your heaviest and how much do you weigh now?
At my heaviest I weighed 16 stone 9 lbs, and I currently weigh 11 stone 3 lbs.
How do you deal with boredom in your dieting program?
I don't tend to get bored in my dieting program as I am always active, whether be it exercise or finding new healthy meals to cook. I set myself interim goals, which also keep me excited and focused on my diet program.
Are there any foods that you completely avoid and never eat?
When I first started losing weight I avoided carbs like the plague, finding alternatives for pasta (courgette and aubergine), potatoes, bread and rice. Now I allow myself to have them on occasion, as a cheat meal.
What are the best things you have found about losing weight?
The best things about losing weight so far is my new found ability to run, fitting into much smaller jeans, and having to buy new gym wear because the stuff I started in hang off me now. The compliments are just an added bonus.
Which celebs are your "fitness" idols? Is there anyone you've looked up to during your weight loss journey?
I absolutely love how far Khloe Kardashian has come with her weight loss, I love seeing her work outs on social media. She shows me that hard work really is needed to obtain the body you want and not all celebs cheat to get the body they want.
With so many diets on the market, why did you choose The Slimming Clinic?
Having tried and failed on so many diets on the market, and having tried The Slimming Clinic clinics previously, I found I lost more weight, more consistently. Also the support from the The Slimming Clinic Clinic team is more motivating than any other diet I've tried before.
What are your three best dieting tips you'd like to share?
-Its all about portion control, not just having too much, also having too little can hinder weight loss too.
- Not all fats are bad for you, infact fats such as olive oil and coconut oil have so many health benefits as well as aiding weight loss.
- Finally, if you really fancy a treat, treat yourself. Depriving your body of cravings makes you crave it more and that when you binge and feel horrendous for doing so. Guilt free treats keep you happy and motivated.
What would you say to someone who wanted to lose a large amount of weight?
Join The Slimming Clinic, don't look back and thank me in a few months ????. Its not going to be easy, but its going to be worth it with hard work, dedication and a new mindset.
Now that you've lost weight how do you plan to keep it off?
My lifestyle has changed for the better, with regular exercise that I love, healthier food and limited naughty food, I have adopted a new lifestyle, one that I shall continue to live.
