What Medication Do We Provide?

Weight Loss Tablets

We offer two types of tablet appetite suppressant medication at The Slimming Clinic: Phentermine and Diethylpropion.

These are tablet medications that alter the release of chemical messengers within the hypothalamus, which is the appetite control centre of the brain. This causes appetite suppression and reduced hunger perception, giving you more control over your hunger and cravings

Weight Loss Injections Mounjaro

Mounjaro, is a weekly weight loss injection with the active ingredient tirzepatide. Tirzepatide works on two different hormonal receptors: glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucosedependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). You may have heard of GLP-1 from other weight loss injections.

GLP-1 helps to regulate blood sugar levels, which in turn talks to the brain to make you feel less hungry and prevent cravings. It also slows down the emptying of the stomach to keep you feeling fuller for longer. GIP regulates energy balance in brain and fat cells, enhancing the GLP-1 effect of suppressing your appetite and improving sugar control.

Weight Loss Injections Wegovy

Wegovy (Semaglutide), is a once-a-week injectable weight loss medication that works on the appetite receptors in the brain to reduce feelings of hunger and cravings.

The injection imitates GLP1 – a naturally occurring hormone in your body – which is released after you eat and indicates to your brain that you are full. These medications also work to slow the emptying of your stomach, which leads to feelings of fullness for longer after you have eaten.
