It’s that time of year again when the gyms are full and everyone is trying their best to stick to their New Year Resolutions. However, it is thought that by the time February approaches almost 1/2 would have given up already.

To make your January detox easier for you and for you to get the benefits you want we have put together some top tips:

1. Eat

Aim to eat regularly. Eating smaller, regular portions is much better than fasting and then over-indulging in one or two meals a day. Make sure you incorporate a balanced diet in all your meals ensuring 5-9 fruit and vegetables portions are consumed a day.

2. Exercise

Find a type of exercise to suit you. The best weight shifts are brisk walking, steady jogging, swimming or cycling for 20-30 minutes at least 3-4 times a week. Even just putting more effort in walking faster, walking more and climbing the stairs faster will shift those pounds.

3. Hot Lemon Water

Drinking hot water with lemon in the morning will be remarkable for your health. Benefits include; boosting your immune system, flushing out any unwanted toxins, excellent for weight loss, balances pH levels and purifies your blood. Lemon is a natural energiser, hydrating your body, making you feel refreshed and revitalised.

4. Alcohol

Alcohol has lots of calories, virtually no nutrients and only stimulates your appetite so staying away from the booze would do wonders for you weight and health.

5. Green Tea

Green tea has incredible benefits said to include preventing cancer, boosting your immune system and metabolism and lowering cholesterol. Swap coffee and tea for green tea this January to improve your health.

6. Food Diary
Keep a food diary of everything that you eat. This will help you understand your eating patterns and re-establish a sense of control in order for you to change your bad eating habits.

7. Avoid

Avoid situations of boredom and anxiety as this is when you will more than likely seek comfort from food.
